Aizawl, June 24, 2026: The Directorate of Women & Child Development has launched a special registration drive for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) from June 15 to July 15, 2026. All pregnant women are urged to register at their nearest Anganwadi Centre. Under the scheme, eligible women can receive ₹5,000 for the first child and ₹6,000 for the second girl child through Direct Benefit Transfer to their bank accounts. Required documents include Aadhaar card and passbook with matching names, and linked mobile numbers. In 2025-26, the department has already disbursed benefits to 5,841 beneficiaries amounting to over ₹2.79 crore.
