Rajasthan’s Progress in Wind and Hybrid Energy

Rajasthan has emerged as a leading state in renewable energy growth, attributed to consistent policy support and active facilitation under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. During the two-day Windergy India 2025 conference held in Chennai, the state received the Excellence in Wind and Hybrid Policy award, reflecting its progress in developing a balanced and supportive framework for clean energy expansion.

Recognition of Policy Clarity and Investment-Friendly Approach

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi presented the award to Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd., acknowledging the state’s structured policy initiatives that have encouraged investment and long-term infrastructure planning. The award was accepted by RRECL General Manager Rajeev Singh.

Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar noted that the state’s investor-friendly policies and committed administrative efforts have helped Rajasthan shape a strong position as a national green energy hub. The government aims to expand clean energy investments in order to generate employment, support innovation and take up a leadership role in the country’s energy transition.

Strengthening Renewable Capacity and Storage Infrastructure

Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd. Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Gupta informed that the Chennai conference brought together sector experts, policymakers and industry associations, with Rajasthan being recognized for its long-term planning in wind and hybrid energy.

Rajasthan currently holds the highest installed renewable energy capacity in India, standing at 40,407 MW. Additionally, a major renewable energy park is being developed in the Pugal region of Bikaner, consisting of 2450 MW solar generation capacity and a 1250 MW/5000 MWh battery energy storage system. Once completed, it will be one of the largest battery storage-based parks in the country.

Upcoming Investor Engagement

Continuing its efforts to attract more investment in clean energy and infrastructure, the state will host an Investor Meet in Jaipur on 7 November. This platform aims to bring together industry representatives, developers and policymakers to explore upcoming opportunities within Rajasthan’s renewable ecosystem.
