Vice-President Meets with Ministry of Tourism and Culture

On October 17, 2025, Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, accompanied by Union Ministers of State, Shri Rao Inderjit Singh and Shri Suresh Gopi, met with the Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, at Parliament House in New Delhi. The delegation briefed the Vice-President on the objectives, achievements, key initiatives, and future roadmap of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture.

The Ministry of Tourism outlined its strategic efforts to enhance India’s tourism and hospitality sectors. The Vice-President commended these initiatives and proposed actionable measures to further unlock the country’s vast tourism potential.

Emphasizing the need for tailored tourism strategies, the Vice-President advocated for destination-specific tourism, with a special focus on medical and spiritual tourism. He urged collaboration with international tour operators and the development of culture-specific, festival-based, and location-focused tourism plans. By fostering synergy among stakeholders, he envisioned creating a seamless, world-class tourist experience that showcases India’s diverse offerings.

The Ministry of Culture briefed the Vice-President on its mandate to preserve, conserve, and promote India’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
