Justice Ashok Bhushan Reappointed as NCLAT Chairperson Until July 2026

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced the reappointment of Justice (Retired) Ashok Bhushan as the Chairperson of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal. The order was notified in New Delhi on 7 November 2025.

Justice Bhushan, a former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, will continue to serve in this role with a fixed monthly pay scale of Rs. 2,50,000. His tenure will remain in effect from the date he assumes charge of the post and will continue until he attains the age of seventy years, which falls on 4 July 2026.

The notification was issued under the authority of section 410 of the Companies Act, 2013, read along with sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021. This reappointment order has been signed by Anita Shah Akella, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal adjudicates appeals against decisions of the National Company Law Tribunal, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, and other related authorities. Justice Ashok Bhushan’s continued leadership is expected to provide stability and continuity in the functioning of the tribunal.
