National Padyatra of Sardar@150 Unity March to Begin on 26 November

Gujarat and Tripura Chief Ministers to Join Flag Off Ceremony
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through MY Bharat, will launch the National Padyatra of the Sardar@150 Unity March from Shastri Maidan, Vallabh Vidyanagar, on 26 November, which is observed across the country as Constitution Day. The initiative follows several weeks of unity-focused activities nationwide and represents the culmination of a movement inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The National Padyatra will be flagged off in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Smt. Nimuben Bambhaniya, Union Minister of State of Women and Child Development Smt. Anupriya Patel, Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma, State President of BJP Gujarat, Shri Ramanbhai Solanki, Minister of Food, Civil and Consumer Affairs, Government of Gujarat, Shri Kamleshbhai Patel, Minister of State of Finance, Government of Gujarat, Dr. Jayrambhai Gamit, Minister of State of Sports, Youth Service and Cultural Activities, Prof. Dr. Harshadbhai Patel, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapeeth University, Dr. Niranjan P. Patel, Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, Sapna Vyas and Mansi Joshi, Paralympic medalists, Ahri Shivoham, and Shri Rakesh Chauhan, former cricketer. MY Bharat volunteers and a large number of youth will also participate.
Extensive Pre-Event Activities Across India
As of 24 November, the campaign has covered 613 out of 780 districts, completing 1,422 padyatras across district and assembly-constituency levels in 431 Lok Sabha constituencies. These padyatras have together covered more than 7,200 kilometres along routes between 2 and 15 kilometres, selected based on cultural and historical relevance. Over 14.3 lakh citizens have taken part, demonstrating wide youth participation ahead of the National Padyatra.
Padyatra Schedule and Route
The National Padyatra will begin on 26 November at 9:00 am with dignitaries offering floral tributes at Sardar Patel’s ancestral residence in Karamsad. This will be followed by a Sardar Sabha at Shastri Maidan in Vallabh Vidyanagar, where leaders, scholars, and youth representatives will reflect on the significance of Sardar Patel’s leadership. The padyatra will be flagged off at 12:00 noon, beginning an 11-day journey of nearly 180 kilometres to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia.
On the first day, the route will include Sardar Patel University, Shaheed Chowk, Bhaikaka Circle, Town Hall Circle, Borsad Chokdi, Jitodiya Road, and Andhariya Chokdi before reaching Navli. The evening halt at Navli will include local performances, dance, folk arts, and community interactions that reflect Gujarat’s cultural heritage.
Engagement Activities Along the Route
The padyatra will feature 150 thematic stops highlighting exhibitions, local craftsmanship, government schemes, and interactive sessions led by MY Bharat volunteers. Daily Sardar Gatha sessions will present accounts from Sardar Patel’s life, linking historical perspectives with present-day civic duty. Community involvement will be enhanced through Gram Sabhas, Swachhata drives, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiatives, and awareness programmes that promote service and Swadeshi values.
Participants will be encouraged to wear Khadi and support local artisans in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Swadeshi stalls, women’s self-help groups, and young innovators along the route will contribute to the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat while supporting local economies.
Culmination at the Statue of Unity
The padyatra will conclude on 6 December at the Statue of Unity, where participants will pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. His role in integrating 562 princely states is regarded as a foundation for modern India.
