A 120-strong Indian Army contingent departed for Irwin Barracks, Perth, Australia, on October 11, 2025, to take part in the fourth edition of the India-Australia joint military Exercise AUSTRAHIND 2025, scheduled from October 13 to 26, 2025.
Exercise AUSTRAHIND 2025 aims to enhance military cooperation, improve interoperability, and facilitate the exchange of tactics, techniques, and procedures in sub-conventional warfare, particularly in urban and semi-urban environments.
The exercise will focus on joint company-level operations in open and semi-desert terrain, involving missions such as joint planning, tactical drills, and specialized arms skills. It provides a valuable platform for both armies to refine operational capabilities, integrate emerging technologies, and collaborate effectively in a simulated combat environment.
Participation in this exercise will further bolster defence cooperation, fostering camaraderie, mutual trust, and collaboration between the Indian and Australian armies.
