Washington Meeting Highlights Joint Innovation Efforts

On October 22, 2025, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, engaged in high-level discussions at the White House to advance the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), science, innovation, and advanced technologies. The meetings underscored both nations’ commitment to fostering innovation and technological leadership.

Advancing Innovation Policies

In a key meeting, Minister Alswaha conferred with Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, with Saudi Ambassador to the U.S., Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, in attendance. The discussions centered on developing joint innovation policies and supporting advancements in science and modern technologies. Both parties explored opportunities to accelerate innovation in future-oriented fields, aiming to drive progress in cutting-edge sectors.

In a separate session, Alswaha met with David Sacks, Special Advisor for Artificial Intelligence and Crypto. The focus was on strengthening the Saudi–U.S. partnership in AI, technology, and innovation. The talks highlighted opportunities to enhance the innovation ecosystem and solidify both countries’ leadership in advanced technologies, emphasizing collaborative efforts to shape the future of these critical domains.
