Saudi Assistant Minister Boosts Innovation Ties with Singapore

The meeting highlighted best practices for building an integrated industrial ecosystem that connects academia, research centers, and innovation hubs. Discussions also explored smart industrial solutions, advanced technologies for industrial cities, and the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution applications in manufacturing and mining.

Discussions on Semiconductor Industry

Dr. Al-Ahmari also met with the Executive Director of the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) to discuss emerging trends in the semiconductor sector and explore opportunities for knowledge exchange and technology transfer in advanced manufacturing, supporting Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen national capabilities in this vital industry.

Collaboration with Meinhardt Group

In another meeting, Dr. Al-Ahmari met with Executive Chairman of the Meinhardt Group Dr. Shahzad Nasim, and the Group Chief Executive Officer Omar Shahzad, to discuss potential collaboration in developing industrial infrastructure and implementing advanced engineering solutions for smart cities.

Visit to Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

As part of his visit, Dr. Al-Ahmari toured Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where he reviewed the university’s advanced research and development practices at the AUMOVIO-NTU Corporate Lab. He also met with NTU’s Vice President Professor Lam Khin Yong to explore opportunities for cooperation in research, innovation, and talent development for the industrial and mining sectors.

In addition, the assistant minister visited the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore, where he met with CEO of ITE Education Services (ITEES) Suresh Natarajan. Their discussions centered on collaboration in workforce development for the industrial sector and designing training programs aligned with the latest manufacturing technologies. The visit included a tour of the institute’s Sustainable Energy Center.
