Help Desks Established for Enumeration and Socio-Economic Profiling of Urban Poor in Srinagar and Jammu

Overview

The Mission Director of Deendayal Jan Aajeevika Yojana–Shehri (DJAY-S) has announced the launch of an extensive Enumeration and Socio-Economic Profiling survey of urban poor households across the twin cities of Srinagar and Jammu.
The initiative aims to identify and register eligible urban poor families to ensure their inclusion in various Centrally Sponsored Social Security Schemes.

Enumeration and Data Collection

The survey is being conducted by trained field teams through door-to-door visits in all wards of the Srinagar and Jammu Municipal Corporations.
This systematic approach will ensure comprehensive coverage of eligible beneficiaries across the cities.

The collected socio-economic data will be uploaded to the Convergence Portal of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, which will serve as a unified database for future planning and welfare program implementation.

The Help Desks will remain operational during office hours on all working days to assist citizens with any queries or documentation related to the enumeration process.

Appeal to the Urban Poor

The Mission Director has urged all eligible urban poor households to actively participate in this vital survey and avail assistance from the Help Desks.
Their participation will play a key role in enabling access to livelihood, housing, and welfare schemes under various government initiatives.

Power Shutdown Advisory

Meanwhile, the Power Department has announced scheduled power shutdowns in certain areas for maintenance work:

  • 25 & 29 October, 2025: Power supply in Chakoora, Hermain, Hajipora, Mantribugh, Momin, Wachi, Babapora, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM.
  • 23 October, 2025: Receiving station Batamaloo will remain off, affecting Batamaloo, Firdousabad, Magarmal Bagh, and nearby areas from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.
