Development Fund Utilization

Inaugurating the program, the MLA said that Rs 212.45 crore has been spent on development activities in the panchayat in the last four and a half years. Rs 4.52 crore has been spent on the asset development fund and Rs 1,00,27,941 on the special development project.

Specific Fund Breakdown

The amount spent in the gram panchayat is Rs 1.74 crore for harbour engineering, Rs 44.87 crore for KIIFB, Rs 206.95 crore for JIDA, Rs 45.5 lakh for local government road renovation project, Rs 4.71 crore for Navakerala Sadas and Rs 33.82 lakh for budget proposal. The MLA said that if we stand together, we can further increase the use of funds.

The development projects and COVID prevention activities implemented in the Kadamakudy Panchayat over the last five years, which has earned a unique place in Kerala society due to its natural beauty and the characteristics of pokkali/fish farming, were discussed at the meeting for further welfare activities.


Major Sectoral Achievements

Housing and Agriculture

Contracts were signed for 137 houses under the Life Housing Scheme and the construction of 100 houses was completed. In the agricultural sector, many projects were implemented in the past period, including comprehensive homestead farming development, the Millet Village Project, and various activities to promote Pokkali.

Health and Waste Management

Several projects were implemented in the health sector, such as a floating dispensary, palliative ambulance, and provision of medicines to the islanders. Around fifteen surveillance cameras were installed in various wards to detect dumping of waste in the waste management sector. Various activities such as distribution of bottle booths, MCF, and bio bins were completed and the panchayat was declared a waste-free panchayat.

The audience discussed various welfare and development projects implemented in the panchayat in the last five years in all sectors including animal husbandry, dairy farming, fisheries, education, health, SC/ST welfare, infrastructure development, drinking water, differently-abled and elderly schemes, employment guarantee, and SC/ST development.


Event Details and Participants

A development video and a display of the administrative achievements of the Gram Panchayat were held as part of the audience. CDS members, Green Karma Sena members, and ASHA workers who performed excellently were honored in the audience.

Grama Panchayat President Mary Vincent presided over the function. Resource Person Mohanan presented the achievements of the Panchayat. Grama Panchayat Secretary Shamna M K detailed the achievements of the local body.

Vice President KP Vipinraj, Standing Committee Chairmen Benjamin VA and Sajini Jyotish, Block Panchayat Member Manu Shankar, Grama Panchayat Members Sheeja Jose, Gia Santosh, Dilip Komalan, and Assistant Secretary Subitha Nair C spoke.
