Renewable Energy Capacity Soars to 197 GW
There has been a significant increase in the country’s renewable energy capacity. It has risen to 197 Gigawatts (GW), more than five times compared to 35 GW in the year 2014. This is in addition to the electricity generated by large hydro power plants. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy stated that the government has set an ambitious target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy by the year 2030. In the current year, Central Renewable Energy implementing agencies have invited bids for the purchase of 5.6 GW of electricity, while state agencies have invited bids for 3.5 GW.
Naval Commanders’ Bi-Annual Conference Begins in New Delhi
The bi-annual conference of Naval Commanders began today in New Delhi. This three-day conference is considered important for the Navy’s future operations and preparations following ‘Operation Sindoor’. It is an effective platform for close contact and dialogue between the national leadership and bureaucracy. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address the Naval Commanders tomorrow and present the framework of ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’. The principal commanders will review plans related to the security situation in the Indian maritime zone with the Chief of Naval Staff.

A conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all states and union territories is being organized in New Delhi starting today. Detailed discussions are being held on specific issues related to the intensive revision of the electoral rolls during this two-day conference organized by the Election Commission. During this, measures will be discussed to make the process of the upcoming electoral roll revision more effective and transparent.
Major IPS Reshuffle in Rajasthan: 34 Officers Transferred
A major administrative reshuffle transferred 34 IPS officers in the state today. According to the orders of the Department of Personnel, Senior IPS Govind Gupta has been appointed as the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Anand Kumar Srivastava has been appointed as the Director General of Police Special Operations. Sachin Mittal has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of the capital, Jaipur, replacing Biju George Joseph. Additionally, five IPS officers have been given additional charges.

Deepotsav Celebrations: Govardhan Puja and Annakoot Observed
Under ‘Deepotsav’, Govardhan Puja and Annakoot festivals are being celebrated with enthusiasm in the state today. Devotees made traditional Govardhan out of cow dung and offered prayers with faith for Govardhan Puja. This was followed by a collective *Parikrama* (circumambulation). Festivities were reported from Poojhari ka Lotha (Deeg), Pali, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Dholpur, Baran, Jaipur, and Chittorgarh. Annakoot dishes were prepared and *Prasad* is being distributed in Kota, Salumber, Dungarpur, and Jhunjhunu. Deepotsav will conclude tomorrow with Bhai Dooj.
World Famous Pushkar Cattle Fair Begins
The world-famous Pushkar Cattle Fair has started today. Camels and horses from various states are being brought for sale at this fair, which is being held in three phases. Special arrangements have been made for the cattle rearers, and various programs will be held during the religious fair.

NWR Runs 98 Special Trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja
North Western Railway (NWR) is running 98 special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja, totaling 956 trips. Additionally, 175 extra coaches have been added to 60 regular trains. Special arrangements have been made for crowd control at major stations, including the creation of holding areas for passengers.
India Ranks Ninth Globally in Forest Area
India has achieved a significant milestone in global environmental conservation by ranking ninth in terms of total forest area in the world, according to the Global Forest Resources Assessment-2025 released by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Bali, Indonesia. Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav noted this achievement, highlighting that India also ranks third globally in terms of annual forest area increase.
New Industrial Area Approved in Bhilwara District
A new industrial area will soon be established in Dhuwala, Mandal Tehsil of Bhilwara district. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved the allotment of eighty-two and a half hectares of land to RIICO (Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Limited) for this purpose. Only non-polluting industrial units will be set up on the allotted land.
I&B Ministry Disposes of 1.43 Lakh Kg of Scrap
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting conducted 493 outdoor campaigns and cleaned 973 locations and 104 vehicles under Special Campaign 5.0. The ministry reported that 1 lakh 43 thousand kilograms of scrap were disposed of during the campaign, generating a revenue of more than 34 lakh rupees and freeing up over 8 thousand square feet of space. A total of 301 public grievances were also resolved.
