U.S. major Southwest Airlines has announced plans to set up a Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, marking a significant development in the city’s technology and business ecosystem. The announcement came during a meeting with the Chief Minister of Telangana.
Chief Minister Expresses Delight
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy expressed his delight over the announcement that U.S. major Southwest Airlines will establish a Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad.
The announcement was made during the Chief Minister’s meeting with the Southwest delegation at the Secretariat, in the presence of Minister Shri Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister interacted with Mrs Lauren Woods, Sr Vice President, Chief Information Officer; Mr Tom Merritt, Chief Technology Officer; Mr Jason Shying, Head, Legal Counsel; and Mr Sarthak Brahma from HEX Advisory Group.

Highlighting the city’s growth story, Chief Minister outlined the government’s ambitious vision for Telangana – to achieve a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, as part of the state’s Telangana Rising 2047 vision.
